As I grew up my fondness for nature increased but little did I knew my passion for plants would turn into a source of my livelihood. Adara meaning “naturally beautiful” started with a simple thought of spreading love via plants. We aimed to educate people by choosing the right plants for the right spaces, making maintenance of plants easy, making people fall in love with nature and enjoy its benefits with the added advantage of aesthetic beauty. It was an easy decision to pursue my passion but a very difficult journey. I was a graduate who didn’t have prior working experience, but the zeal to make a name for myself worked as my motivation. I needed to figure out all the “Ifs, buts & hows”
From getting hate comments from relatives like “UK se Padh kar aayi just to sell plants!?” my friends calling me “Mali'' and seeing it as just a “phase”. Luckily for me, I was blessed with the most supportive parents especially my mom, who helped me stay true to my vision, we didn’t just stick to selling stuff but the main focus was on spreading awareness about the benefits and usages of houseplants in this virtual world through social drives, sponsorships, workshops etc. Adara today customises corporate gifting, designs balconies, landscaping, workshops and consultancy.
We are grateful to have over 1000 clients, have successfully designed over 100 balconies and just launched our line of bio fertilisers for houseplants. The fear of failure sometimes clouds our power of decision making but I have learnt to seize the day, mistakes shape you better and you don’t always have to learn from other’s mistakes.Lastly would like to say to you all that people realise at age of 40 that money will not give them happiness, I was lucky enough to understand it at a younger age, so I chose my passion over money and would encourage you to take the same opportunity without a second thought whenever life presents you with one. And trust me life will. Carpe Diem.
