To All the Men, It's Okay to Express

We all have heard tales of how women live longer than men. I can guarantee that you too have your own theories and box full of assumptions on this particular topic but have you ever heard about how your life becomes shorter when you don't express? Harvard School of Public Health study showed that emotional suppression "increases the chance of premature death from all causes by more than 30 percent."

So, why are we talking about "men" here when this can be implemented on every gender?
Right from the birth, when a boy with big eyes cries, the whole world says "don't cry" (like a girl is complimentary but today, we are not going to talk about it). You see, teaching how to supress your emotions starts with men when they are not even aware of different genders, people tell them to choose blue over pink and cars over dolls; my question is, do we really need this? No!

When we tell a child to choose this over that even without asking him what he likes, we just suppress the thought process of that being. Our brain functions by remembering what we have taught it last time and when their brain remembers how you laughed at him while he was expressing himself, he will just stop there.

Like all the biological process have it's own pros and cons, not expressing yourself have it's own:
Pros- This society will consider you as epitome of a Gentleman who keeps to himself and limits his interactions to his peers and is rock solid in his ways.

Cons- In response to emotional stress, the muscles in your forehead and brow tighten, leading to reduced blood flow to the brain resulting in headaches. When you don't acknowledge your feelings, you are allowing these emotions to become stronger, according to a study from the University of Texas. Emotional outbursts are "your body's way of releasing that pent-up emotion," says clinical psychologist Victoria Tarratt.

So to Millions of People out there when you tell men to suppress their emotions, to stop expressing themselves as a lover, as a child, as a human; you are killing them from within.

Remember this - If we won't give water to the seed, it will not grow. So if you won't give men redundant chauvinistic ways of being, they will grow, they will live life as they want to and not in a state of mind where the pressure to be a "man" is just too much. No one can choose what is right or what is wrong individually for everyone.

Men expressing themselves is as natural as a flower's blooming, let them bloom.
